My Goal & What I'm Gonna Do About It

I need to set some financial goals, and i dont care if anyone reads this or not.



#1.  $1,000 - safety net (emergency fund, according to dave ramsey. blechk)

#3.  12 months living expenses ($800 per week x 52 weeks = approx $42 grand (6 mo. $21 grand)
#4.  QUIT MY FUCKING JOB
#5.   Work from home doing wordpress sites and design work freelancing
#6.   Make enough money to not have to worry about bills
#7.   Buy a Mac like the one at work.

Life. Is hell sometimes. But we are BLESSED!

I have been down with Pneumonia for almost a month now.
During my time off I did a lot of creative work, side jobs, selling on ebay, etsy, and writing, freelance work.

I made $424 from those side gigs in the two weeks I was off. This was a tremendous help because I was not working my 9-5, so therefore, no paycheck. Actually, I got a 53.00 paycheck for the very few hours I did work.

Anyway, what else has been up with me? I have been doing alot of research about freelancing and working at home. Considering the example above, if I just up my game a little I can quit my job and pull it off!!!

It wasn't all roses and peaches, though, I did an amazing t shirt design for the fourth of July (2 of them , actually) and I never got paid the $80 :( live and learn i guess. Now I am more careful about my screening process. These are the best sites to freelance work on:

I was going to put it in my report "Celebrity Body After Baby" but it didn't seem all that appropriate.

Flattering Your Figure

• Check that your bra is doing its job of holding up the girls....where they belong! Nipples should be exactly between your shoulders and elbows. I know some of us have different size breasts, so it's important to at least attempt to line up your nipples. Because you don't want to get to work and #1 - your coworkers know about your different breast sizes. #2 - And have now seen your nipples! No way!! Get a bra with padding if you have an extreme issue with this because if not, you'll get stares for the males in your office for the rest of your days. (If that's your intention, then go for it, but it's not workplace appropriate at all).

• I highly recommend this new bra Victoria's Secret has out that claims to increase your cup size 2 sizes. Maybe it's me, just been wearing cheap bras for a few years, but I just ordered a few new bras from VS and the best one has a racerback which closes in the front. I looked HOT! To MYSELF!!! In the mirror!!!

• One more thing about bras is to make sure it fits right (duh... Go get a fitting, its not that awkward. And sometimes they give you a coupon once you've been fitted (Yay!) A sign it doesn't fit properly is that the back rides higher than the front. Oh, and the fat rolls. If your bra makes fat rolls on you, the band size is too small. Go get fitted. You always will look much sexier when your garments fit correctly. If you have overboob, your cup size is too small. Go get fitted. There is a handy guide to band/cup sizes that can be substituted for each other RIGHT HERE

• Keep prints in scale to your frame. If you are petite, wear small [patterns or pinstripes. If you're over 6' tall like me, you can rock larger prints like crazy Pucci looks and wider stripes.

• Jean pockets have everything to do with how your ass looks in them. If you want to minimize your assets, choose jean pockets that are large, straight and spaced close together. Have you ever seen those jeans with the angled pockets? They make a woman's ass look like POW. Some people may like that but ....

---

• If you're a shortie lil girl (I hate you), make yourself look taller and trimmer by wearing a monochromatic look head to toe. It even works with white. 

---

• If you wear dresses (I do about 4 times a year) go for a hemline that hits right above or right below the kneecap. This will make legs look their best. So will high heels, they accentuate your leg muscles. 

---

• Embrace diagonal prints. I know, let that sink in. Think wrap dresses, chevron prints, and asymmetrical hemlines (I love those) on shirts and skirts. The weird hemline is one of my faves. They say that wherever that downward-sloping angle hits on your body, that part of you will magically appear slimmer.

• Flaunt your collarbone (the skinniest part of your body) with an open neckline. Unlike cleavage, the collarbone is subtly sensuous and looks elegant on almost everyone.

• Follow this color map for playing up (or downplaying) parts of your body: Wear brights in the areas you want to highlight, and darks in the areas you want to hide.

---

• Use tailored silhouettes in structured fabrics - (like a wool blazer, coat, or a cotton A-line) almost like body armor to hide "jiggly bits".
  This past winter, I invested in a good structured wool coat. I normally wear something like a North Face jacket or a sweater coat. Whenever I wore this coat, I got so many compliments, and was told I looked slimmer and more professional. Which is awesome!! So now I recommend to EVERYONE to invest about 1-200 dollars on the good coat, the one that makes you drool, because cheap coats just end up in a pile, or the garbage or donated.

• OK, I don't have this problem, because I don't wear heels and I don't want to look taller. But for those of you who do, wear nude pumps that match your skintone. For killer legs, choose them with pointy or almond shaped toes.

More for dressing for your body type:

Petites

What works best: Body-conscious and tailored pieces—shaped jackets, hip-length tops, hemlines at or above the knee, and tapered pants—complement diminutive features.

What to keep in mind: It’s not just about hemming for shorter legs. Head to the petites department for scaled-down proportions elsewhere, including the shoulders, the sleeves, and the rise (to avoid the ugly low-hanging crotch).

Where to shop: AG Jeans,Anthropologie, Banana Republic,Calvin Klein, J.Crew, Levi’s, Michael Michael Kors, Tracy Reese.

Talls (AKA Me!)

What works best: Volume (full skirts), length (floor-sweeping flares), and prints (op-art geometrics), which would swallow up smaller frames, look dramatic and stylish on the long-limbed.

What to keep in mind: Statuesque women can also have long torsos, so opt for tall sizes not just for pants but also for swimsuits, dresses, and tops. Skip anything cropped, which can look shrunken on you.

Where to shop: Ann Taylor, BCBG,Gap, J Brand, Lucky Brand Jeans, Joie,Loft, Long Tall Sally, Talbots, Topshop, Zara.

Plus Sizes

What works best: Think forgivingly flowy, not oversize; lots of excess fabric makes you look bigger. Pair softer pieces with items that have built-in structure, like blazers or slightly bootcut pants, in areas where you need to be reined in.

What to keep in mind: There is a sizable difference between a 16 and a 16W. If you see that extra letter, you’ll get more generously cut armholes, a roomier bustline, and a larger waist-to-hip ratio.

Basically, wear what makes you feel comfortable so that you're not pulling and tugging at your clothes all day. That's pretty annoying and tacky to be doing. Plus uncomfortable. Wear what fits. Let's repeat....WEAR CLOTHES THAT FIT. It makes all the difference in the world. Who cares what size it is? Nobody knows but you. And as long as you knock everyone's socks off with your style, people aren't going to care if you weigh 8- pounds of 400.

Off Work for a Week :: Working from Home

So I have Pneumonia and have been forced to stay home all week. So I've been doing alot of things online, font downloading, designing things for my etsy shop and doing what little I can around the house, mostly folding clothes (yuck!!!)

My medicine is making me not sleepy so even though I should be sleeping all this time I can't!!

Anyway, I'm going to post some things I designed and a Link to my design website.

Beauty Product Review - Clinique's DDML (Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion)

CLINIQUE DRAMATICALLY

DIFFERENT MOISTURIZING LOTION

Tell me this product hasn't been in your repertoire since about 7th grade...??

This moisturizer came into my life in Jr. High school. All the other girls had their green Clinique makeup  compacts and I didn't even wear makeup yet.

I Asked my grandmother if I could get a fancy green makeup case, and it so happened they were offering a free gift at the time. So I got my makeup compact, an eye shadow sample, a mascara sample, and something for old ladies... but THIS. This yellow bottle seemed so small and so cute. I really didn't have a beauty routine (as in washing my face and stuff .... still don't, I have every beauty product ever made and I'm too lazy to use them!!) But whenever my face felt dry, I would rub a little of the DDML on. It felt great, simple and lightweight and no strong fragrance.

As I grew older, I began to buy every facial product under the sun and they were always too thick and clogged my pores, too smelley, too greasy, etc. 

Once I realized Dr. Phil's statement, "What are you doing now? Is it working..??"

Hell no it wasn't working.

I realized that It is best to use as few products as possible on my skin and whenever I get out of the shower and get that dryness around my nose and mouth, I get out my Clinique lotion and am soothingly moisturized.

I do also use special creams for my eyes...... and one hint from my Grandmother (who is 73 and has GREAT skin) had to go to a rehab facility after surgery. She did not use any of her face creams during that month. She claims she noticed a HUGE difference. So use that shit everyday, no matter how lazy you are.... YES I'M TALKING TO MYSELF!!!!

p.s. - I've been out of work sick with Pneumonia. Yucky!!!

UNENDORSED REVIEW - Skinnygirl Stevia

So this stuff is pretty awesome. I have never used stevia as a sweetener before. Just a squirt takes the place of two aspartame packets in my coffee, and ESPECIALLY, my Sweet Tea (which I like REALLY, REALLY sweet. I am a Southern Belle, Y'all!) and it works! So I highly recommend that you try this if you are trying to lower your sugar and fake sugar intake.
